What are you doing now:
I'm working for Comcast Sportsnet-Chicago as a full time prompter/studio operator. I have been there since September 27, 2004, which was right before our launch date of October 1, 2004. I also do some freelance work at the Convocation Center for basketball games and some small projects for friends of mine.
Fond memory of Media Services:
When NIU went down to Alabama in 2003 and beat them. Being able to go down there on that trip and experience 80,000 fans get all quiet at once on a historic field was great.
How Media Services employment helped your career:
Working at Media Services taught me more than my classes by actually applying real, working-world knowledge on a consistent basis (e.g., shooting, editing, color balancing, miking, and by being able to think of what equipment is needed along with what might be needed). Media Services also helped me by making contacts at the right time, which is how I landed my current job.
